MY FILM POSTER

Constructing my Film Poster

As you can see to left I have put my final version of my film poster. Here you can see that I have included more inter titles which has really tied together the overall theme. I have also added 4 social media icons which shows that as a production company we are using modern technology. Personally I believe that it has that professional edge to it, however if I was to do it again, I would probably use a different image of Xander on the building. From asking my fellow pupils some have said that the title and the billing block work well together and some said they found the symmetry aesthetically pleasing.

  1. Excellent. A sound level of background research into poster genre codes and conventions underpins this striking and polished poster that is eye-catching in its powerful central image, its pleasing symmetry and the arresting typography of its film title. This is particularly apt in connoting a broken modern world, with its scratches and visual noise, thus providing a visual code of the film's central theme: post-apocalyptic destruction. The low angle shot of the futuristic tower with the protagonist depicted gazing fearfully over his shoulder links well with the film's narrative, as does the minimalistic monochrome colour scheme that uses the red accent to make key information stand out such as the title, stars and billing block. Alliteration of 'f' in the strapline lends memorability. A classy piece of work marred only by the slight lean of the vertical image.
